Ann Farrell,

Organisational Behavior

Ann is a behavioral scientist and business consultant who empowers leaders to meet bottom line results while consciously aligned with both personal and professional core values, purpose, and vision. With over 25 years of experience leading and managing diverse cross-functional teams, specializing in executive coaching, appreciative inquiry, leadership and whole system change. Ann has worked with a range of industries and customers including Port of Tacoma, Boys and Girls Club and other local businesses facilitating change management and conflict resolution. 

Ann holds a Master in Organisational Leadership & Development from Bastyr University and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Eastern Philosophy from The Evergreen State College. 

Anna Soderstrom, Principal

Anna is Principal of the Fringe Embassy.  In her 15+ years in the maritime industry, Anna has held various executive level and business development positions including Director of Client Relations & Business Development for California and Washington United Terminals (Hyundai Merchant Marines).  She and the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay recently won the 2018 AAPA Communications Awards Program “Award of Excellence” for two promotional videos her group wrote, directed, and edited. She has led the growth of digital communications expanding the audiences of Ports social media platforms and e-newsletter.  Anna has worked for and with  Port of Seattle, Port of Tacoma , Port of Virginia, Port Authority of NY & NJ  and the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay. 

During her career, Anna has obtained certifications in Nonprofit Management and in Six Sigma (both from the University of Washington), International Trade, Dale Carnegie Leadership Training, and Professional Coaching in Appreciative Inquiry and Whole System IQ. She is also a Fellowship Member of the World Affairs Council, a member of the Transportation Club of Tacoma, and holds a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.  Anna has taught Maritime Management at the Pacific Lutheran University.

 

A native Swede, Anna studied in Sweden, Spain and at the University of Washington. She holds a Bachelor in International Marketing and dual Master's degrees in Business Administration (Supply Chain Management) and Economics (Organizational Development).

Galen Hon, Advisor 

Galen Hon has over 15 years of experience in the port and maritime industry and 20 years in practice in facilitation, quantitative analysis and strategic planning. Galen has participated on IMO delegations as an advisor for climate and air quality issues for past 8 years. In addition to being a world-class technical expert on energy and climate issues, Galen is specialist in stakeholder outreach and active facilitation methods. Having received training from the Reos Partners, an organization that pioneered methods for facilitating complex subjects and stakeholders, Galen has helped lead stakeholder engagement for a range of clients including the Port of San Diego, the Maritime Industry Decarbinisation Council, the US Navy, and several oil majors. Galen holds a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.

 

Galen holds dual Master's degrees in Civil Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon and dual degrees in Civil Engineering and Humanities from Seattle University.

Bill Smith, Sustainability & Quality Control 

Bill has over 25 years of experience working with local governments and businesses to help them green up their operations and operate in a more sustainable manner. His experience ranges from resource conservation to green building, climate change, green purchasing and change facilitation. Bill is also a certified lead auditor for several international environmental and employee health and safety standards for ISO 14001  Environmental Management Systems, OHSAS 18001  Employee Health and Safety, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, e-Stewards and Responsible Recycling (R2).

Bill hold a Master in in Environmental from Antioch University and a Bachelor in Business from Western Washington University.

Marian Ladenburg

Digital & Inbound Marketing

Marian has over a decade of experience in digital and inbound marketing. She specializes in simple and effective strategies capitalizing on digital presence through search engine optimization. She is a HubSpot expert and utilitarian, capable of directing vision, execution and everything in between.   She has international experience and has worked with many organisations leveraging technology to drive business success, bring visitors to your site and turning them into Leads while also building customer relationships.

Marian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Global Marketing and Management from University of Portland. 

Doug Kaminski, Strategic Advisor

Doug, our Marketing Strategy Advisor, has consulted over the past 20+ years with some of the world’s most highly regarded companies, including many Fortune 1000 companies, and government agencies to help them tackle their unique challenges surrounding growth strategies and public records data. Prior to working with the Fringe Embassy, Doug served as Director at Relativity, Senior Director at Huron Consulting Group, and held leadership positions at Symantec, Wolters Kluwer, and LexisNexis.  Doug has worked with 12 State Attorney Generals and other state and municipal government agencies.  He is a Technical Advisor to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and is Past President for the Detroit ARMA (records management). 

 

Doug holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing at the University of Michigan and resides in Washington State.

 

Lisa Blackmore

Photo & Edit

Lisa, our Photographer and Editor, has harnessed the power of visual communication for over a decade. She knows how to grab the attention of your target audience via compelling photographs in combination with well-written text. Lisa’s work has ranged from commercial to non-profits, events to portraits and her pictures are used in marketing materials such as websites, posters, billboards, brochures and social media. Her visual content has boosted shares, increased engagement and sales for a host of organizations including M Agency, Children’s Museum of Tacoma and Project Child Success. Through her graphic elements organizations can convey a favorable perception of its products or services. As a passionate, lifelong photographer, Lisa attests to the power of a picture and the value that it brings to the communication of ideas. The use of captivating photographs drives emotional responses about a brand including trust. 

Lisa holds a Bachelor of  Arts in Elementary Education and Child Development at the Western Washington University.

Debra Haller

Creative & Media

Deb leads our Creative Team and overall Media Production efforts.  With her 20+ years of serving clients both in agency and in-house roles, Deb brings extensive experience in creative strategy and vision, team and organizational leadership, writing, producing, directing, stakeholder engagement and management for multi-channel campaigns, social impact programs and digital media projects. Deb has led integrated media strategies and produced programming, promotion, brand campaigns, educational outreach and digital content for clients including CBS, PBS, Discovery Channel, WGBH-TV, Vulcan Productions, USDA, University of Kansas, Girl Scouts USA, The Kauffman Foundation, the YMCA, REI Co-Op, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Mount Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park, Ironbound Films, Brooks Running Company and more.

 

Deb is a Member of Women in Film and a past Marketing Chair for Passages Northwest. Deb holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Advertising from Murray State University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Washington.
